"Feathers" - The Golden Thread- Week 45
Hello
This is week 45 of the Golden Thread challenge.
A year-long drawing challenge I have been participating in called the "Golden Thread," organised by @jehane_ltd
This is the last theme of the year: "A Forager's Tale" and this week's prompt "Feathers"
I decided to make a story with each illustration as a thread woven into the weekly prompts.
Here is this week's story.
The three friends spent a cosy time with Rabbit in his burrow, warming themselves by the wood burner and drinking carrot soup. The days were drawing darker earlier in the afternoon. When the three friends decided to leave and return home to their own cosy beds, the moon had already risen. They had realised they were totally lost — how would they get home?
As they climbed up the ladder of Rabbit's burrow, they felt some feathers brush past them.
They looked up above them, and there was a large owl in the night sky.
Rabbit called out, "Hey, my friend Mr Owl, where are you going?"
He flew down to take a look at the tiny group.
Rabbit said, "My friends are lost — maybe you can give them a lift?" Rabbit thought if he could fly high enough, they might just see their path home.
Mr Owl blinked his huge eyes and thought those wise thoughts as owls like to do.
He replied, "That sounds like an excellent plan, Rabbit."
"Hop on to my back, my little friends," and they clung tightly to his feathers as they rose high up into the moonlit sky.
But what is next for their adventure?
What will it be? No one knows until next week's Golden Thread.
