“Seasonal Spice” - The Golden Thread Week 51

Today is a day for releasing all the things of 2025. Finishing a book I was reading, clearing out my inbox, decluttering my studio and of course finishing the golden thread challenge of 2025.

A year-long drawing challenge I have been participating in called the "Golden Thread," organised by Jehane Ltd.

This is the last theme of the year: "A Forager's Tale" and this week's prompt "Seasonal Spice"

I decided to make a story with each illustration as a thread woven into the weekly prompts.

Here is the story so far.

As owl and three friends flew through the starry night, Owl took great care to find and stay on the path back to his friends' home.

They could all smell the most amazing aroma of warm spices and apples.

Squirrel looked down and was excited to see a Christmas market.

Squirrel said in a joyful tone "It looks like it's the village Christmas market near our Orchard." He shouted out "We are nearly home!"

Where will the three friends go next on this adventure?

What will it be? Will they finally make it home?
