“ Herbal Alchemy“ - The Golden Thread Week 48

This is week 48 of the Golden Thread challenge.

A year-long drawing challenge I have been participating in called the "Golden Thread," organised by @Jehane Ltd.

This is the last theme of the year: "A Forager's Tale" and this week's prompt "Herbal Alchemy”

I decided to make a story with each illustration as a thread woven into the weekly prompts.

Let’s continue with this week's story.

When everyone woke from their nap, the sun had risen in the sky.

As they climbed down from the tree that had been their bed for the night, Owl realised he could no longer fly. The three friends gathered around him to comfort him.

Just then, a mouse carrying herbs walked past. He asked the group, "Are you ok? You look like you need some help?"

"No," said Squirrel. "Our poor friend Owl is feeling very unwell and unable to fly."

Mouse looked at Mr Owl and then asked,

"Did your Owl friend eat the berries on that tree?" "Yes!" they all said together at once.

Then Mouse said, "Ahh, I understand now. Those berries disagree with Owls and can make them very unwell. If you want, you can come back to my home and I have some healing herbs that can help your friend Mr Owl get back on his feet again."

So they followed the mouse and helped him to nurse Mr Owl back to health again.
